On April 7th, BFTO planned and organized its first food distribution to 100 families. Each family received 1000 Gdes cash money for a total of $700 US. with their food packages, Again, local staff were instrumental in making it happen. Thank you to Dr Pascale and to our on-the ground team in Thomazeau for a job well done. Food and monetary donations, transport and personnel support were paid with BFTO funds,
BFTO hosted a New Year's dinner at "Ste Therese de Lima Elementary" for the benefit of the student body. The usual end-of-year celebration was cancelled due to persistent insecurity problems in Haiti impeding travel and shipment of toys and goods. Our thanks to the School's director, Sister Rose, who took charge and made the event possible. Financial support was provided by BFTO.
With the pandemic over, we are looking forward to resuming all our activities this year though obstacles remain. For the academic year 2022-2023, we were able to maintain our feeding program serving children with daily lunches, In addition, we provided tuition to 60 kids who otherwise would not be able to attend school. Funding for the program was provided by our many supporters and donors.
